As a teenager, LaSalle worked his way through Boston's Fenway School of Illustration doing any number of odd jobs, from modeling for his instructors to working as nightwatchman at a railroad crossing. He hunted and trapped in winter and sold the skins to the Hudwons Bay Company. During his last year at Fenway he studied with Harvey T.
