In 1959, he participated in the documenta II in Kassel. Since 1960, he lectured at the Academy of Fine Artist Al Rio in Nuremberg and was honored by the city in 1981 with a major retrospective. His work is strongly influenced by Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky.
