Only sixteen years old, Henrik won admission to the Art Academy in Düsseldorf, where he studied during the years 1873-1884. Henrik Nordenberg settled permanently in Düsseldorf and, with breaks for summer stays in Blekinge, was active in the German art metropolis until his death in 1928.Although Henrik Nordenberg was initially influenced by his uncle Bengt Nordenberg's painting, he developed his own style with a significantly brighter and healthier color. Henrik Nordenberg settled permanently in Düsseldorf and, with breaks for summer stays in Blekinge, was active in the German art metropolis until his death in 1928.Although Henrik Nordenberg was initially influenced by his uncle Bengt Nordenberg's painting, he developed his own style with a significantly brighter and healthier color. In his art you can see influences from French plein air painting, while in the matter-of-fact presentation you can also find traces of the Dutch 17th century master Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675).
