Jacqueline Bishop is a graduate of the Newcomb School of Fine Arts at Tulane University in New Orleans. She is presently exhibiting there. She has painted and traveled intensely throughout the jungles of South America. Within her work are allusions to the political figures of those regions, as well as a constant backdrop of flora, fauna and the wildlife she continues to study. In each of her paintings looms a question of ecological survival, and Mother Nature assumes a variety of representations. Bishop has exhibited since 1980 in Galleries all over the country. In addition, she has exhibited at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in St. Etienne, France and the French Institute of Thessalonic, Greece.
