When he was age 13, he moved to San Francisco where he studied at the School of Design. He then studied in Munich, Germany at the Royal Academy of Fine Art with Carl von Marr, and in Paris at the Academie Julian with Jules Lefebvre, Robert Fleury, and H Zugel, famous animal painter. Returning to San Francisco, Greenbaum estabished a career as a portrait painter of prominent persons, and also painted images of the Chinese fisher folk in Monterey. His studio was at 916 Market Street. He made a second trip to Paris, where he studied for four years and then moved to Los Angeles because his San... Read full biography
