Burton had over 30 solo exhibitions and performances and dozens of group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at the Tate Gallery in London and the Boymans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. Burton had over 30 solo exhibitions and performances and dozens of group exhibitions nationally and internationally, including exhibitions at the Tate Gallery in London and the Boymans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam. His work is in numerous permanent collections including the Museum of Modern Art and the National Gallery of Art. In addition to the Sheepshead Bay project, he also worked as a team member on the design of the plaza for the World Financial Center at Battery Park City. Burton died in 1989. Artist Statement:.
