Guided by his talents, Courtright would use both of these dreams to create a world-renowned career, spreading his unique work with masks and monochromatic collages throughout the world. After studying at the Art Students League and the New School for Social Research in New York and at St. John's College in Maryland, Courtright visited Europe in 1949 before moving abroad in 1952.
