A painter and sculptor dedicated to innovative and experimental techniques, Ronald Mallory is focused on going directly to the essence of art by confining an amount of mercury between planes of transparent plastic, mounting the whole thing on a slowly revolving motor, and then creating a wide variety of patterns with the resulting flow of the mercury. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 17, 1939. He earned a BA Degree from the University of Colorado in 1951, a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the University of Florida in 1955, and in 1956, attended the School of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro where he studied with Roberto Burle Marx.
