Alec Mingelmanganu is regarded as one of the masters of Wanjina painting, alongside Charlie Numbulmoore, Wattie Karruwara and Mickey Bunguni. His works, both in scale and manner, have their genesis in the rock paintings of the Kimberley, where Mingelmanganu was responsible for the maintenance of various important sites. His works, both in scale and manner, have their genesis in the rock paintings of the Kimberley, where Mingelmanganu was responsible for the maintenance of various important sites.
