Gottfried Brockmann was a German painter, draughtsman, and graphic artist who was trained as a house painter but began working as an autodidact artist and came in contact with the Dada group 'Stupid'. He began studying at the Düsseldorf academy in 1926 and became a master student of H. Campendonk in 1928.
