Hugo Yonzon (1924-1994) was born in Manila. He graduated from the University of the Philippines School of Fine Arts, 1947 on a Ramon Roces scholarship. His first one man show was in Solidaridad Gallery in 1971. Among his outstanding works include the 21-foot mural for the Philippine Pavillion at the NY World's fair of 1964. His first one man show was in Solidaridad Gallery in 1971. Among his outstanding works include the 21-foot mural for the Philippine Pavillion at the NY World's fair of 1964. In 1977, he formed the Tuesday Portrait club with Legaspi, Olmedo, and five other artists, it was so called because the artists held regular Tuesday portrait sessions for sitters.
