After the war, he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under the direction of m.in. Eugene Eibisch (1946-1951, diploma 1956). From 1956 he works as a teacher at his alma mater. Initially, next to easel painting, he designed scenery and fresco. In the years 1953-1957 he made polychromes of the reconstructed tenement houses of the New and Old Town in Warsaw. Sempolinski's painting work should be seen in the context of two phenomena of Polish post-war art: the tradition of Polish colourism and the ARSENAL 55 generation.... Read full biography
