In his twenties and thirties, he traveled extensively throughout Europe and the United States, seeking inspiration and enriching cultural experiences. Guillaume initially concentrated on the figural and realistic images, gaining a solid reputation and following in his native country the Netherlands. Between 1980 and 1990, he had several one-man shows and group exhibitions throughout Holland.
