At the same time, since childhood, he studied drawing at workshops of M. Stachowicz, J. Brodowski and F. Lampi. He worked for the Polish Kingdom administration. Michalowski spent from 1832-1835 in Paris where he studied in N.-T. Charlet's workshop. He was an excellent painter of horses.
