As a teenager, he was heavily artistically influenced by many nationally and locally known artists such as Melvin Warren, C.A. (Cowboy Artists of America), James Boren, C.A., A.D. Greer, Dalhart Windberg, Joe Rader Roberts, Gary Lynn Roberts, and some association with G. Harvey.
