He attended the classes given in the Promotion of the Arts having Eduardo Montesinos as a teacher as well as two prominent painters of the time and Balaca Mateos. He went to the School of Arts and Crafts. At fifteen he entered the Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, where he was student of Carlos de Haes, Alejo Vera, Luis de Madrazo, Jaime Morera and José Moreno Carbonero, frequenting the studio of Joaquin Sorolla.
