Frank Brown was born in Beverly, Massachusetts in 1876. He studied at the Copley Society and Boston School of Painting until 1920 when he entered the Julian Academy in Paris. He was a member of the Societe Coloniale des Artistes Francais, the Societe Internationale de Aquarellistes of Paris, the American Watercolor Society of New York.
