He then studied for many years in Dresden with Johan Chistian Dahl, interrupted by traveling through Norway, Bavaria, Tirol and Switzerland. Baade moved to Munich in 1845, and in 1849, he exhibited a depiction of a nightly Norwegian coast with outstanding success.
