Menyhert Toth was a Hungarian artist who studied at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts in the 1930s. After completing his studies, he returned to his birthplace, Miske, where he lived a reclusive life. Despite being a core member of various artist colonies and groups in Hungary, he maintained a solitary existence. Toth supported himself through agricultural labor and painting houses, with his first solo exhibition in 1941 not followed by another for twenty-seven years. His estate was eventually acquired by the Gallery of Kecskemét.
