Beginning with meticulous draughtsmanship and painted studies, Muller often formed pieces separately before assembling them into unnervingly surreal objects and biomorphic forms. Muller was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1920. He began his career working for artists Germaine Richier and Charles Otto Bänniger, who were major influences on Muller's early works. Beginning with meticulous draughtsmanship and painted studies, Muller often formed pieces separately before assembling them into unnervingly surreal objects and biomorphic forms. Muller was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1920. He began his career working for artists Germaine Richier and Charles Otto Bänniger, who were major influences on Muller's early works.
