The two bronze sculptures Composition X4"and Composition X8 from 2011 take abstract forms from his monumental work of art, The Pyramid of Memory 1965-2010. This complex work of wood, mirrors and polyurethane symbolically translates the elementary concepts and contents of life, which are important to the artist, in an abstractized formal language. Early on in his career, the artist extended the dynamic painting act beyond the canvas to three dimensional objects. As early as the 1960s, a series of painted wooden sculptures were created. The two bronze sculptures Composition X4"and Composition X8 from 2011 take abstract forms from his monumental work of art, The Pyramid of Memory 1965-2010. This complex work of wood, mirrors and polyurethane symbolically translates the elementary concepts and contents of life, which are important to the artist, in an abstractized formal language. Shortly after completion, He decided to have some of these shapes he had made cast in bronze. These he anchored on elaborately designed and uniquely painted wooden base.
