Tymon Niesiolowski was born on October 2, 1882, in Lviv. The artist's father was an official in the Galician Regional Assembly and, by passion, an avid ornithologist with a marked talent for drawing. However, it was his mother, a lover of philosophy and literature, who exerted a stronger influence on the artist's personality. While still in high school in Lviv, the artist became interested in fine art. He continued his studies at the Department of Decorative Painting of the Lviv Industrial School. During his studies, his lecturers included Tadeusz Rybkowski. After graduating from high school in 1900, Niesiolowski began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.
