Andrés Barajas is a Spanish painter who began his aesthetic training at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos in Madrid and later at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid. During the seventies he travelled all over Europe where he came into contact with the expressionist movement. A decade later he began to work as a teacher of Mural Painting at the Escuela de Artes Aplicadas y Oficios Artísticos. Many of his works represent images or are inspired by characters from classical antiquity, as in this particular case, whose protagonist is Danae.
