He set up his studio in Boulogne-Billancourt and regularly participated in numerous exhibitions: Independent True, the Society of Mountain Painters and the National Horticultural Society of France. Several galleries devoted solo exhibitions to Coppens. Among them was the prestigious Bernheim-Jeune gallery (gallery in the time of the Impressionists, Renoir, Cezanne & Matisse), but also the Royal Gallery and the Picturesque Gallery.
