Discovered by Ligeti Antal, he studied at the Fine Art Academy of Vienna where his unique color perception surprised his masters. Meszoly's grayish-brown tones were reminiscent of the Barbizon masters, leading to some of his works being mistakenly attributed to Corot on the art market.
