He lived there for quite some time and portrayed the idyllic landscapes in numerous paintings. He usually took photographs as a template. Dischler was chairman of the artists' association 'Breisgauer Fünfer' and the 'Freien Künstlervereinigung Baden' as well as the Baden Black Forest Association.
