Discart was taught by Anselm Feuerbach (1829-1880), and he studied alongside Ludwig Deutsch (1855-1935) and Karl Merode (1853-1909), amongst others. Discart traveled and spent time in Paris, and began to exhibit at the Pairs Salon in 1884, and continued to paint Orientalist subjects through to the 1920s.
