Studying under the famous traditionalist and kitsch painter Odd Nerdrum, Sverre's early works were committed to a formal aesthetic expression. Several of his well known early works were portraits of youth. During his time at The National Academy of Fine Arts, Sverre developed a moreover photo-realistic approach to painting.
