Peter Gilman lived early life in Surrey, Englanf moving to the village of Ashwell around the late 60's where he became a full time professional artist. He had a contract with Rowneys (artist materials) and tutored professionally. He painted the landscape of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and East Anglia being much influenced by the work of Edward Seago.
