Very early sharp depiction of the Pacific Northwest Frontier by Butman. This painting is done on an oval wood panel, which makes for a nice painting surface and glow to the picture. This painting has been exhibited extensively as part of the Phelan Collection of Early Western Art.

Wonderful early example of Post's best work, with a wonderful jeweled surface character and texture.

Wonderful early, abstract expressionist work by Close, done the year he completed his undergraduate studies Magna Cum Laude at the University of Washington (Seattle). This work is compositionally similar to that of Willem DeKooning, whom he admired, and the work of his UW art instructor Alden Mason. The globbing of paint is reminiscent of the impasto Hans Hofmann created on canvas. The provenance of this piece is directly from a friend of Close at the UW. Upon meeting DeKooning late in his life, Chuck Close quoted himself as saying "Its finally nice to meet someone who's painted more DeKoonings that I have".

This is a larger version of an Eastern Oregon Farm scene at twilight that I sold about six months ago. This one is 18x22 inches (the other one was 14x17) and framed in the original panel frame. This is a tight painting with a very nice surface. The sage brush and dappled back-lighting on the hills is wonderful...a prismatic rainbow of colors is created at the top of each hill by the sun being low on the horizon. Its truly a charming farm scene of the American West in the 20s. The windbreak created by the poplar trees dancing in the wind creates something of a dazzling green stage curtain popping the farmer's home in front and waiting to reveal the next scene behind it. The painting is out of a Bend, Oregon collection, and has never seen the market. This picture, I believe, is similar in location to the Wire on pg. 68 in 'The Pacific Northwest Landscape, A Painted History" by Harmon/Raban.

George Uchida, Seattle, widely exhibited photo of Mark Tobey 1963 on 20x16 backboard mount.... Arizona International Exhibition, Illinois International Exhibition, Oklahoma International Exhibition, & Seattle International Exhibition of Photography.

Striking Modernist Sculptural object, having both glimpses of Tribal Art & modern line. This was a model made for the 1974 Spokane World's Fair Fountain.

Wonderful imagery with very thickly applied casein paint on burlap/masonite, exhibited at the Grand Central Galleries in NYC. Banks exhibited at the Whitney and PAFA, among other major venues. She is a Seattle artist, and this is probably an image of the Montlake Cut toward Lake Union with the University Bridge in background. Though she spent most of her time exhibiting at major museums and galleries in the major art centers of the NE USA. She is still little known, as most of her best paintings were held in her estate until very recently.

Striking, highly sought after thick white crackle glaze on black ground, prime period charger wall sculpture by the Seattle great ceramic artist and teacher Robert Sperry. This piece depicts 4th of July Fireworks over Lake Union, where Bob Sperry's studio was in the 1980s.

Great period carved frame with silk mat and uv-plexi. His best watercolor that I have seen.

Striking iconic Pacific Northwest imagery of a burnt out ancient cedar tree from her trip out West with Louis Comfort Tiffany in August of 1916. This picture, and one very similar by Tiffany, were painted side-by-side in Stanley Park, Vancouver, BC. Great frame and Provenance, as well.

Similar to Seattle Center Playhouse Fountain 1961. Extremely nice prime period example of indoor sculpture.

Bright painting of Lake Union Boats Docked with Gasworks Park (today) in background. Love the light & movement in the clouds & the reflection on the water. Can’t beat the exceptionally carved, silver metal leaf Newcomb-Macklin period frame to set off this view of a blustery Seattle Spring day.
