Rare Fidalgo Island, Washington oil of men fishing at Pass Lake, right before you get the famous Deception Pass Bridge on the HW 20 Scenic Byway! Great Newcomb-Mackin carved frame...

Lively view into Early Native Alaskan Life.

This is a wonderful oil sketch that resulted in a finished painting supposedly representing the Woman Painters of Washington enjoying a warm Summer Day on Whidbey Island, where the Camffermans lived and has an art school/colony. Housed is a period silver cove molding. This is a double-sided piece with a great depiction of what is most likely her husband Peter digging in the Garden under a blossoming cherry tree. My third image shows the reverse & my fourth image shows the larger finished painting I spoke of above for comparison.

This is my favorite Derbyshire painting & the finest Leon Derbyshire still life painting that we know of. The illuminating light & shading in this modern still life make it a special piece!

Bold, confident brushstroke in gritty piece with an exciting pink-orange-beige palette with artist’s classic green, blue, purple & white color highlights. The more orange tones in this carved, gilt period Schneider Seattle frame really compliment the tonality of this painting very well.

Incredibly beautiful early Hawaiian picture by this very skilled native Australian who moved to Hawaii 1910-17, briefly on Monterey Peninsula, and settled in Seattle in 1918. Image features figure walking dog on beach.

Wonderful bright masterwork by this famous caricaturist. Studied alongside Norman Rockwell at the Art Students League in NYC. This is his 1949 National Academy Exhibited painting.

This is a larger version of an Eastern Oregon Farm scene at twilight that I sold about six months ago. This one is 18x22 inches (the other one was 14x17) and framed in the original panel frame. This is a tight painting with a very nice surface. The sage brush and dappled back-lighting on the hills is wonderful...a prismatic rainbow of colors is created at the top of each hill by the sun being low on the horizon. Its truly a charming farm scene of the American West in the 20s. The windbreak created by the poplar trees dancing in the wind creates something of a dazzling green stage curtain popping the farmer's home in front and waiting to reveal the next scene behind it. The painting is out of a Bend, Oregon collection, and has never seen the market. This picture, I believe, is similar in location to the Wire on pg. 68 in 'The Pacific Northwest Landscape, A Painted History" by Harmon/Raban.

Here's an exceptional 1955 31x43 inch Kenneth Callahan just in...Per inscription on the strecher, it was lent for exhibition to IX Premio Lissone (Museum of Contemporary Art near Milan, Italy) by owner actor Burgess Meredith ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgess_Meredith )via The Maynard Walker Gallery on East 57th in NYC for a museum competition in the 1950s-60s. Not that it makes a bit of difference as to the great quality of the picture, but its kind of cool that Burgess Meredith was the trainer in the original 'Rocky' movie with Sylvester Stallone, and 'The Penguin' in the original Batman.

Majestic, masterwork by Paul Gustin painting of his most popular subject Mt Rainier...called 'The Mountain that was God' in a 1910's book that Paul Gustin illustrated. Framed in a rare, carved period Newcomb-Mackin gilt frame of wonderful scale, design & proportions.
