In 1943, he continued his training at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière before joining Marcel Gimond's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts. Here he met Albert Féraud, Philippe Hiquily and César. In 1943, he continued his training at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière before joining Marcel Gimond's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts. Here he met Albert Féraud, Philippe Hiquily and César. At the end of the Second World War, he joined the "Groupe d'Oppède" in Oppède-le-Vieux and began using stone, plaster and salvaged materials. In the 1950s, Michel Guino turned to metal sculpture, gradually abandoning figuration for abstract compositions.
