Cuixart's work was influenced by surrealism and he had a strong sensitivity towards the expressive force of color. He later immersed himself in material informalism and introduced collage in his work in 1962, which gradually led him to pop-art. In the seventies, Cuixart exhibited in numerous national and international capitals and freed his painting from aggressive aspects to give it a more lyrical tone.
