He continued his education in Zagreb, Croatia and in 1936 enrolled at the Academy of Arts. He passed the classes of excellent art pedagogues Omer Mujadžic, Krsto Hegedušic and Ljubo Babic. In his final year, he showed exceptional talent, so that in 1940 he was awarded the Paris Scholarship at the exhibition of graduate theses, which was determined by the College of the Academy.
