Here's an exceptional 1955 31x43 inch Kenneth Callahan just in...Per inscription on the strecher, it was lent for exhibition to IX Premio Lissone (Museum of Contemporary Art near Milan, Italy) by owner actor Burgess Meredith ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgess_Meredith )via The Maynard Walker Gallery on East 57th in NYC for a museum competition in the 1950s-60s. Not that it makes a bit of difference as to the great quality of the picture, but its kind of cool that Burgess Meredith was the trainer in the original 'Rocky' movie with Sylvester Stallone, and 'The Penguin' in the original Batman.
From his Long Beach, Washington period…which is my favorite! Power, Geometry, just enough color & tons going on in this Moonlit Beach depiction of the flotsam & jetsam along the coast at line.
